It is August once again.
All roads lead to Perez Park in the vicinity of Quezon Provincial Capitol in Lucena City for the 4th staging of the colorful "NIYOGYUGAN FESTIVAL".
NIYOGYUGAN comes from the words "NIYOG" (Coconut) and "YUGYUG" (to move to beat). Quezon Province is the number one producer of Coconut in the Philippines. The festival was conceptualized by Congresswoman Aleta Suarez. It is a commemoration of the birth of President Manuel Luis Quezon, an illustrious son of the province.
This is my 3rd time to witness this captivating festival. I was not able to witness when the festival was first held in 2012.

There was no NIYOGYUGAN festival in 2014 because of the devastation caused by natural calamities.
For this year, 2016, the duration of the Niyogyugan Festival is from August 18 to August 27.
The captivating booths crafted with utmost creativity adorned by materials from coconut and other agricultural products.
Numerous agricultural and other products are being sold in every booth.
