South Cathedral: The Oldest Catholic Church in Beijing

It is once again SUNDAY.
Another opportunity to celebrate life in SPECIAL WAY.

The best place to do it is at the CHURCH
or any place of WORSHIP.

It is another chance for me to explore BEIJING.

This particular Sunday is devoted to visit the oldest CATHOLIC CHURCH in BEIJING, the SOUTH CATHEDRAL OF CATHOLIC or the XUANWUMEN CHURCH.

This is the second Catholic Church that I visited in BEIJING. The first one is the EAST CHURCH in WANGFUJING ST.

Mass Services in English are being held during Sundays at 10:30am and 4pm.

How to reach the SOUTH CATHEDRAL OF CATHOLIC in BEIJING?

The easiest way is by SUBWAY TRAIN.

Take the SUBWAY LINE 2 or LINE 4.
Get off at XUANWUMEN (this station is the INTERCHANGE or TRANSFER STATION for LINE 2 and 4), then exit at B1 or B2. You will immediately see the towering facade of the SOUTH CATHEDRAL or XUANWUMEN CHURCH.

There are Filipinos who are working in Beijing who are also attending the English mass schedules. So this is one of the perfect places to meet Filipinos when you are in Beijing.

After attending the mass, you can cross the street to visit and shop at WALMART or take meals at the numerous fastfood chains and coffee shops like the STARBUCKS, KFC, MC DONALDS, DAIRY QUEEN among others.

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE...
