THOUGHTS ON OVERTIME

OVERTIME is a sign 
of INEFFECTIVENESS AND INEFFICIENCY...



There is something wrong in any of the following: 

1. ORGANIZATIONAL SET-UP - not responsive to deliver the accomplishment of the mission within the reasonable time.


2. MANNING - inadequacy and/or wrong assignment of personnel, job mismatch, absence or lack of training, and unhealthy and uncommitted work force are the main reasons of  inefficiency and ineffectiveness resulting to OVERTIME.



3. MANAGEMENT - mismanage of time and other resources within the required time or office hours. Doing irrelevant and unnecessary things during office hours or reasonable time frame. 

4. SYSTEMS - absence of DOCTRINES, POLICIES, MASTER SCHEDULE, CHECKLISTS and TIMELINE that should be the basis in doing things properly, effectively and efficiently. There is also no PROPER FILING SYSTEM to take note and maximize the LESSONS LEARNED that should be applied for the future conduct of activities.

5. LOGISTICS - lacking or absence of equipment and/or facilities to accomplish the mandated task within the required time. There is also a mismanagement of logistical requirements such as absence of maintenance schedule and monitoring system.

6. FUND - limited or no fund allocation to accomplish the job within reasonable time. Mismanagement of fund is also a culprit.

7. WORKING ENVIRONMENT - unsuitable working place. Not design for the intended purpose.

An organization should evaluate these 7 factors if CONSISTENT OVERTIME is being DONE.

Let us WORK within the REASONABLE TIME...

OVERTIME is UNHEALTHY and absolutely,  WASTAGE OF RESOURCES...
