Sampaloc: Home of Maapon River and Guinto Hanging Bridge

EXCITEMENT...one word that can fully explain the feelings whenever I travel to different places for the very first time...

There are thousands of undiscovered heavens and amazing places in the Philippines...

My JOURNEY to a small town of SAMPALOC in QUEZON PROVINCE is just another exciting one...

SAMPALOC is located between the municipalities of LUCBAN and MAUBAN...

The name "SAMPALOC" originated from a big TAMARIND located in the center of the town before...

One of my DESTINATIONS is the GUINTO HANGING BRIDGE located within the town proper of SAMPALOC...

The HANGING BRIDGE is a very important structure to cross the MAAPON RIVER...

It was actually a hair-raising experience to cross the GUINTO HANGING BRIDGE with its "vibrating movement" since it is only supported by cables.

The hanging bridge is an essential connection between the TOWN PROPER of SAMPALOC to the residential areas and rice fields. It facilitates faster travel in crossing the river.

The river serves as the rest and recreation venue for the residence of the town. The location of the town being away from the urban areas is a significant factor that make the flowing water still clean and conducive for swimming.

I just do hope that a more stable bridge will be built in the near future to provide a safer and reliable connection between the town proper and other parts of Sampaloc. I am also hoping that even if developments will be done in Sampaloc the gift of nature like the Maapon River will not be damaged.

IT WAS A ANOTHER WONDERFUL JOURNEY...
