THE SOLUTION TO THE TRAFFIC PROBLEM.... MIGHT BE YOU!

Don't be part of the PROBLEM, be part of the SOLUTION!

Many of us are almost always complaining about the heavy traffic flow in EDSA, in other parts of the country, and in other parts of the world...

at the MAGALLANES MRT station
during one Thursday at 8pm...

But based on observation, there are 2 words that can solve this problem, yes, only DISCIPLINE (MALASAKIT) and STRATEGY (MATINONG PAGPLANO)...

DISCIPLINE from the people and those supposedly following the laws...

STRATEGY from the people who have the direct planning duties and responsibilities for places like METRO MANILA...

DISCIPLINE and MALASAKIT from everyone. Let us dissect the STAKEHOLDERS that cause the PROBLEM, that certainly should be part of the SOLUTION:

1. The CAR OWNERS

If you observe closely, majority of the vehicles along the roads with heavy traffic flow are privately owned cars. And again majority of them, there is only one person inside the car, only the driver. Imagine the volume that can be occupied if each vehicle has only one person. One person that expands to a large vehicle occupying space in EDSA more than 20 times his body. If that person has "MALASAKIT" to other people, he or she can just take the PUV (MRT or BUS) if he or she alone. Yes, that will create inconvenience for him or her and a little sacrifice. But if we begin to think first of others rather think of ourselves only, we will have a better world to live in. If almost all of us have that mindset of MALASAKIT, imagine the convenience of having a smooth traffic flow. 

2. THE OWNERS OF THE PUBLIC UTILITY VEHICLES

4. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

5. LAND TRANSPORTATION OFFICE

6. COMMUTERS/PASSENGERS/PEDESTRIANS
People who are crossing the streets in prohibited areas are the main causes of heavy traffic flow and most of the time ACCIDENTS!

7. BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT OWNERS
Business is not all about PROFITS!!! "MALASAKIT" should come into play in the hearts and minds of business owners building or expanding establishments in areas where traffic flow is already heavy.

8. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAY
Strategy when to destroy and build should be laid out properly. Historical data is very important!!!

9. LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES (PNP etc.)
Laws are products of big resources spent at the Senate and Congress. Laws that should be strictly implemented!!!

10. METRO MANILA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
There should never be additional business establishments in METRO MANILA. Additional business establishments means additional people. Additional people means additional vehicles. Additional vehicles means HEAVY TRAFFIC FLOW! Additional business establishments should be built outside METRO MANILA.
