The FOUR QUADRANTS classification MATRIX of STEPHEN COVEY is an excellent tool to prioritize activities and things to do.
The 4 QUADRANTS are classify into NECESSITY, EFFECTIVENESS, DECEPTION and WASTE & EXCESS. NECESSITY are the things or activities that are both urgent and important because they are between life and death situation or delayed reaction will incur death, damage, injury or loss. EFFECTIVENESS or the things that are important but not urgent because they need careful planning, preparation and execution, The DECEPTION and WASTE & EXCESS QUADRANTS are things or activities that should not be done or if ever less prioritized.
