San Agustin: Oldest Church in the Philippines

It was June 12, 2015, the whole country was celebrating the PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY.

Being declared as REGULAR NON-WORKING HOLIDAY, another INDEPENDENCE  to have a memorable exploration of important places in our country. Since, it was just a day off, I preferred to visit nearby places.

I opted to visit INTRAMUROS to have a semblance of celebration of the holiday.

My first stop is the oldest church in the country, purposely to start the day right.
I already visited the SAN AGUSTIN CHURCH several times in the past. This visit was just a renewal of my attachment to this historic landmark.

The construction of the SAN AGUSTIN Church was completed in 1607.
The place can be reached by availing various public utility vehicles. The most convenient way is to take a TAXI from anywhere in Metro Manila. The most challenging way is to take LRT line 1 then alight at the CENTRAL TERMINAL to be able to  take a JEEPNEY ride going to PIER.  Alight at INTRAMUROS infront of the MANILA CATHEDRAL.
SAN AGUSTIN CHURCH is located along the right side of the road, situated at the right side of the MANILA CATHEDRAL.
During my recent visit, there were many foreigners in the place.
A wedding ceremony was about to start when I entered the church.
Feel the past, visit old structures in the country while you can still do it.
We are lucky that the oldest church
is just within our reach.
May GOD always bless our JOURNEY in LIFE...
