Lucban: Art Capital of Quezon Province

LUCBAN is considered the "ART CAPITAL OF QUEZON PROVINCE" and famous for the "PAHIYAS FESTIVAL" happening annually every 15th of May.

The MUNICIPALITY of LUCBAN is located in the PROVINCE of QUEZON. It is about 140 kilometers south of METRO MANILA.

HOW TO GO TO LUCBAN:

There are air-conditioned buses bound for LUCENA CITY from strategic locations in Metro Manila such as JAC LINER, JAM LINER, DLTB and DELA ROSA bus lines. There are numerous bus stations where you can take the bus depending on your locations: ALABANG, TAFT AVE. corner GIL PUYAT, EDSA corner TIMOG and ARANETA BUS TERMINAL. It will take about 3 to 4 hours of travel from said bus terminals to LUCENA CITY. The estimated cost of airconditioned bus fare per passenger is P 200 to P 220. From Metro Manila, the journey will be passing the SLEX or the Southern Luzon Express Way to exit at CALAMBA CITY(specifically Barangay TURBINA) then will pass by the municipality of STO. TOMAS in BATANGAS, then the municipality of ALAMINOS followed by SAN PABLO CITY, both parts of the province of LAGUNA. Then from LAGUNA, the town of TIAONG (home of VILLA ESCUDERO) is the first in the province of QUEZON, followed by the town of CANDELARIA, then the town of SARIAYA, then a portion of TAYABAS CITY, then finally LUCENA CITY.


Then from LUCENA CITY, the travel time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours going to LUCBAN TOWN PROPER. There are airconditioned vans and jeepneys bound for LUCBAN in the following locations in LUCENA CITY: LUCENA CITY GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL, SM CITY, PACIFIC MALL and at the terminal at DIVERSION ROAD beside  JOLLIBEE. The estimated cost of fare per passenger is about P30 to P50.

The travel from LUCENA CITY to LUCBAN will pass-by TAYABAS CITY proper. One of the notable places of interest in TAYABAS CITY after passing the city proper is the KAMAYAN SA PALAISDAAN, dine in at floating bamboo rafts in a relaxing ambiance. If you are using a private vehicle, it is perfect to take your meals there. They have delicious foods and drinks at reasonable prices. Then entering the town of Lucban, you will pass-by the KAMAY NI HESUS SHRINE, where you can also have a stop not only for religious matters but also to enjoy this tourist destination and see the town of Lucban from the top of a hill where the 50 foot structure of JESUS CHRIST is located.

The LUCBAN PUBLIC MARKET is also the location of PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TERMINAL going to LUCENA CITY, SAMPALOC (another town of QUEZON PROVINCE), MAJAYJAY and STA. CRUZ 
(both municipalities of LAGUNA)
