This spacious important landmark in the Philippines is worth your time to visit...
Aside from remembering and honoring the great contributions of our NATIONAL HERO, DR. JOSE RIZAL, this is notably a PARADISE in METRO MANILA...
Who is JOSE RIZAL?
Rizal is a Filipino nationalist during the tail end of the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines. An ophthalmologist by profession, Rizal became a writer and a key member of the Filipino Propaganda Movement which advocated political reforms for the colony under Spain.
He is widely considered one of the greatest heroes of the Philippines. His novels, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo and a number of poems and essays inspired the Philippine Revolution against the Kingdom of Spain.
Jose Rizal was executed on December 30, 1896 for the crime of rebellion which fanned the flames of 1896 Philippine Revolution.
LUNETA PARK is one of the largest urban parks in Asia.
In 1955, President Ramon Magsaysay signed Proclamation No. 234 declaring Luneta a National Park.
RIZAL PARK has an area of about 16.24 hectares.
